"Biodiversity should be given similar attention just like climate change since they are interlinked with each other. Conservation of ecosystems should be encouraged at national, regional and global levels. Transformational change should be embraced by all stakeholders to restore and protect biodiversity. Also important is the science and policy follow-ups with a clear implementation strategy which are well monitored and evaluated. This will help to assess impact on the society and environment in general."

Magdalene is a Collaborative Masters in Agriculture and Applied Economics (CMAAE) graduate who specialised in Natural Resources and Environmental Economics. She was nominated to present her research output during the stakeholder day at the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES-7) in Paris, France.
