Stakeholders’ Curriculum Review Workshop: Master of Sustainable Management and Operations (SuMO)

The Africa Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Operations for Resource Management and Food Supply convened a one day stakeholders’ workshop on 24th of February 2022 to review the Master of Sustainable Management and Operations (SuMO) curriculum. The workshop brought together stakeholders drawn from government ministries, non-governmental organizations, development agencies, private sector, research organizations and academia. The feedback provided was instrumental in shaping the content, delivery and assessment of the program by ensuring its relevance to industry needs.

FoodLAND Annual General Meeting - Dr. Evans Chimoita

FOOD and Local, Agricultural and Nutritional Diversity ( FoodLAND)  project aims to conduct surveys, behavioral experiments, develop, implement and validate innovative, scalable and sustainable technologies aimed at supporting the nutrition performance of local food systems in Africa. These technologies range from novel nutritious food products, production technologies, and several types of technologies for food processing.

Re-advertisement for PhD Positions in Sustainable Management and Operations

Sustainable Management and Operations (SuMO) is a new three year PhD program. It is planned to be offered at the Kuehne Logistics University (KLU) through the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Nairobi, by the Africa Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Operations for Resource Management and Food Supply.

GUEST LECTURE BY PROF. GOR C.O.

Visiting lecturer Prof. Gor C.O from Jaramogi oginga odinga University held a talk for first years from the department of Agricultural Economics. Prof Gor presented on Agripreneurship. The talk was based on the fact that economies in developing countries mostly depend on Agriculture. According to RoK (2012) agriculture is the mainstay of Kenya’s economy, currently contributing 24 per cent of the GDP directly, and another 27 per cent indirectly.

The talk was held on 10th Dec  2021 at Upper Kabete Campus.
